on a flight to a new beginning

Not really to a new beginning...it just sounded like a way cool title. haha

First off, this is the wonderful state I call home. Georgia! Look at how green it is and all the trees. The houses with lots of space between them and all scattered around.

Here's on the plane.....My weird obsession with how fascinating the clouds are continues.

Here's Utah, not so green, not so many trees, and lots of houses planned out exactly next to each other.

But this right here is one of the many reasons Utah is absolutely beautiful to me...

I LOVE the mountains! I just can't get enough of them and how gorgeous they are! My apartment has the best view of them.

It snowed the one of the first few days while I was in Utah. I guess it was a welcoming present or something.

Anyways I made it safely back to Utah. It's so pretty here! I like the feeling of being where you belong, and as I flew in to Utah I was overwhelmed.

I never liked Utah, have I mentioned that before? I never in a million years wanted to go to BYU where girls go just to get married, and somehow that's where my path has taken me. Funny.

When people ask me where I am from I have been getting the same question in response to my answer, "Why did you come to BYU?" It seems as if they have a hard time believing why on earth would I decide on BYU. Which always surprises me. I tend to snap back with "Well duh why not?" People seem to take advantage of how extraordinary this school really is. Where else would you have almost all of the students be part of the same religion as you? Where else would you start class with a word of prayer to bring in the Spirit? Where else would the professors include scriptures and talks by Apostles and Prophets in the lessons? This school is amazing! It's one of the best experiences I've had the opportunity to experience. I love being able to be here and attended this school.

I started back in classes, and I love my schedule. My favorite class, you'll never guess...Marriage Prep. Haha I dropped Math because I hate it and decided to take Marriage Prep. This isn't the religion Marriage Prep this is really School of Family Life, Marriage Prep. It's actually a really fun and interesting class. I'm not saying I'm ready to go out and get married because of this class, I'm just saying it's teaching me a lot of things I never have really thought about. I find myself getting more spiritually out of this class than my actual New Testament class. The professor is a really great teacher. He loves what he does and actually cares about each student individually. Also, he doesn't treat it as if it's another college course but like an actual life lesson. He also uses a ton of quotes, which I can't seem to get enough of! My first paper is a based on a survey I have to take. There are 2 surveys. One if you are currently single it will show if you are ready for a committed relationship and the second one is for those who are in a relationship and it sees if you're ready for marriage. I will be taking the first one, obviously. It will show my weaknesses and strengths. Should be quite interesting :) haha.

My other classes are New Testament and Family Recreational. I really need to stop taking these prep classes. The only people I ever meet are girls and very few guys who are mainly....engaged, married, and/or have kids. That's BYU for you! haha I love it though!

Darn you weight limit!

I hate the 50lb weight limit for suitcases when flying....how gay! My stuff is heavy. I can go over 50lbs easily. First off the suitcase ways a ton. 50lbs is not my stuff, it's mainly the daggum suitcase! Second of all, stuff people need like clothes are dang heavy! I think a pair of jeans is like 3lbs honestly. It's totally not right. I'm packing for Utah, obviously, and it's 2am. This is ridiculous, and it makes me extremely frustrated. I hate packing. It's like the worst thing ever. I need a personal packer. I'm going to have to wake up tomorrow and repack. It's this never ending cycle. Fill it up, take things out, weigh it, put more in, take more out, weigh again. I'm sure everything will still not fit, no matter how much you roll it or take things out. Ugh! Also paying for my luggage, seriously so so stupid! In the end, I'll somehow take out a ton of stuff I need from my suitcases and then get it shipped, so that's more money wasted. Flying is stressful....the end.

Buttttttttt on a happy note, yay for going to Utah! Also, my bff Kacy and I filmed us doing the hoedown throwdown. It's great and really hilarious. haha Y'all will get a kick out of it! xoxo

To every end there is a beginning

"I wanted a perfect ending....now I've learned, the hard way, that some poems don't rhyme, and some stories don't have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what's going to happen next."

My feelings exactly.

I'm rapidly approaching the very moment I have so longingly anticipated...returning to BYU. I'm thrilled really, but it seems so unreal and I have my doubts. Which is crazy, I'm doing what I'm suppose to do, so why all the fears? I feel very unprepared and I'm extremely worried about the unknown. I have expectations and I am, like always, afraid to watch them not get met. Really, It's quite silly. I know for a fact that things will work out, but still it's very nerve-wracking. I have grown very accustomed to being home in Georgia. Being under my parents wings, and not having to worry about too much. I'm perfectly happy here in my little comfort zone, and now it's all about to get turned upside down. I do have to admit though, I love change. Every nerve-wracking moment, totally worth it. haha

I do hate goodbyes, though. I feel like lately I've had to say a lot of goodbyes. I'm getting pretty good at saying them. Still they are not pleasant. I had my last day at the Hob Lob. It seems like forever since I started there. My coworkers and I were kind of a family, a much different kind of family, but nevertheless a family. I said my goodbyes and I got a lot of "Good luck in life." It's such a bold statement. It kinda hit me a little bit. I was thinking to myself, "Luck? As long as I'm doing what I'm suppose to do and keeping the Lord close, I don't need luck." I know what a silly thought to have, when what else were they suppose to say? It also made me think about how one day somewhere in the near future I'll see them all again. What a very good feeling to have. I'm thankful to have worked at Hobby Lobby 320, it was a very good experience. It was really a good job for me too, but the time has come for me to move on to bigger and better things. I'll have to post pictures of all my fun adventures in Utah. ;)

Anddddddddddd

Happy Anniversary to my wonderful parents!
30 years....yay! I hope one day to have a beautiful marriage like theirs and to be in love with my husband as much as my parents are in love with each other. I love you guys! Thanks for falling in love, being married in the temple, and always setting an outstanding example for me! xoxo

Boom Boom Clap Boom De Clap De Clap

The Hannah Montana movie comes out this weekend. I'm almost 20 and I love Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus.(side note Jonas Brothers July 4th at Stadium of Fire) I'm such a big kid who like Peter Pan will probably never grow up. I think partially why I love Disney is because I have always wanted to be a big Disney Star. I mean really they hook you up! Fortune, Fame, and Career...what a life!

Anyways Hannah Montana movie. It's going to be awesome! I also think that Miley has hit the ultimate high of her career and will probably not last much longer. (but that's another story)In the movie there is this dance. It's going to be the next big thing I'm telling you! It's called the Hoedown Throwdown. No worries I've totally learned it. It's fun times. Here's a youtube video of Miley teaching her bff Mandy. So now you can learn it too! Look for my rendition of it soon. xoxo

All men are Edwards

'Twilight'- a guide for men...

I read this article in the MormonTimes Paper, which btw I love this paper! It's brilliant! I really liked the article and the many interesting points it makes. So I decided I would share it.

"It would be easy for a man to mock "Twilight" by Mormon author Stephenie Meyer. But the novel, which chronicles the swooning and ogling of teenager Bella for her vampire boyfriend Edward, should be required reading for all men.

True, a man might find himself screaming at Edward: "Bite her! Just bite her already!"

True, he might fling the book against the wall a few times in frustration -- especially when (spoiler alert!) the final great vampire showdown takes place while the first-person narrator is unconscious, which means there is no action description of what would have been the best part of the book: vampires fighting vampires.

But if a man can read the book -- which, by the way, might make a great movie someday -- he just might come away with an amazing insight into what women want.

And what do women want?

Edward is described as a "beautiful boy" with "perfect lips" and a "voice like velvet." Edward has a "dazzling face" and, let's mention it again, "flawless lips." Again and again he is described as beautiful and gorgeous. He is strong, dark and beautiful. He is immensely talented and beautiful. He is sensitive and beautiful. He is moody and beautiful. Women and girls love him even though his ever-so-beautiful lips are cold and probably stained with cougar blood.

In other words, Edward is the perfect man. And the good part is, every man is Edward.

"But hold on a second," you may say. "I am not even handsome, let alone 'beautiful with perfect lips' -- I'm not sure I want to have perfect lips, I'm not sure I even want to know what perfect lips look like."

But now I am going to give you the secret for understanding "Twilight" and when you understand Bella and Edward you will thereby understand all women.

"Twilight" came from a woman's real-life, middle-of-the-night dream.

In other words, this novel grew out of a woman's subconscious mind. It is telling us things she does not really want us to know.

This, by the way, is a good place to take a moment to encourage you to never tell another person your dreams. If you are the type of person who has no difficulty figuring out the symbolism in your dreams, you probably aren't going around blabbing about your nightmares. If you can't figure out the symbolism in your dreams then beware -- other people will figure out every embarrassing personally revealing detail for you.

And, true to form, this instance of Stephenie Meyer's dream is also personally revealing.

We've looked at Edward. Let's look at Bella. Bella is good-looking enough. She is smart. She is brave. She has pluck. She is clumsy. And, she smells good -- especially to Edward who wants to drink all her blood, except that he loves her and that would end the relationship.

In the topsy-turvy world of symbolism, Edward is every man and Bella is every woman.

Yes, gentlemen. We are vampires.

In a woman's mind, we are Edward. OK, so we are not perfect in our looks, but remember this is subconscious symbolism. Edward's perfection is symbolic of all the love and good things we represent to the women in our lives. It is the good us.

But we are also vampires -- we have the ability to make life miserable for women. We can give into our own desires without regard of how it would destroy their lives.

We have the power to dazzle or destroy.

I am not going to get into anything deeper than this. There are other aspects, perhaps, to this that are best left for MormonTimes.com columnist Laura Brotherson.

What is it about Edward that Bella and all Meyer's fans love? He controls his vampirish impulses and deep desires because he loves Bella. Bella knows he has these desires and admires him more than she would if he did not have these desires.

Sure, he wants to drink her blood, but even more than that, he wants her to be happy and live.

What could be more beautiful? "
