Day 3

Day 3: Albuquerque to Youcan

The days are getting longer the more I am in the car. Ha. My butt goes numb after a while and my leg starts freakin out because it's dumb and had issues. My phone keeps dying way too quickly-- but hey thank goodness for an iphone! I am really grateful that I am road-tripping with my Dad. He's the best!

I drove a little while today but I got dizzy after a while (Maybe from elevation change?). However, it rocks to drive through New Mexico, Texas, and Oklahoma 75 miles an hour. Zing! Seriously, it's like wide open road and a whole bunch of nothing. I also really enjoy listening to my playlist on my Ipod. I love music and singing along!

As you can see below, we saw this massive cross. Lovely right? I am positive I mentioned that a few years ago when I did this trip. It's so huge though, what is the point of it? It is so showy!

The weather was awesome today. This morning it was way cloudy and dark but then it was clear blue skys! We stopped at a rest area and the wind was just a blowin. I felt like I was on a commercial with my wind blow hair. Ha! It was hard to stand straight in it though.

We had the opportunity to see a beautiful rainbow! It was gorgeous! So needless to say we know it won't be the end of the world this year. Thank goodness for some more time right?

I've been eating fast food for like the past week going on week two. I am sick of it. I feel disgusting and greasy, like I need to go run or go on like a 12 mile hike. Ha! I've been trying to eat something other than chicken or burgers, but not many options. It's okay, I'll be home Wednesday night!

Okay I am a little car crazy. I've got cabin fever! So ramble ramble. Tonight we are in another Hampton Inn, and this one is sweet! It is so nice in the rooms! Too bad there is construction going on? Hopefully it won't be too bad in the morning when I get up.

And I am glad to report my rooftop bag is holding up rather well, even though we have been getting weird looks from people. Yeah....

Day 2 Shoo Bop Dee Do

 Day 2: Moab to Albuquerque
Well Dad and I stayed in a Hampton Inn for our first night. Everything was closed when we arrived which was like 9:30-10 and we were kind of hungry. We ended up going to the local City Market, which is owned by Kroger. Rockin the deli sandwiches!
Then we got up the next morning and headed out to see the Arches National Park. It was awesome. For those who haven’t seen it, I highly suggest it. It would be the perfect place for hiking, but we had no time for that. We just did the scenic drive through. Here are some pictures from our adventure.

It was the perfect Sunday activity. I love being in nature on Sundays. I always feel closest to the Lord in nature and admiring the beauty in this world. My testimony is always strengthened. I am so little in this world and the Lord took the time to create this magnificent place. He cares about all of His creations, especially me.

They also had this tiny, tiny cabin up there where the Wolfe family lived for more than a decade. They were from Ohio, why and how they chose Moab up in the rocky areas, who knows-- The ground is hard, no food, the local town in miles away, cold harsh winters, and blazing hot summers. Here is their cabin and cattle pin.

I uh had to go potty while we were out there looking at the Arches. They had these places called toilet pit. They are exactly what they are called. I have never felt so disgusting in my life. I already have issues using public restrooms, so imagine that magnified. I still feel grossed out.
Well after all of that we headed out towards Albuquerque. The drive was pretty when we went over the plains. They were snow covered and untouched.

Otherwise the roads were like way bumpy and up and down. I kept having to watch the rooftop bag, just in case. Also the speed limit would change from like 70 to 50 to 30 to 70..nonstop. So annoying!

When we got to Albuquerque we went to this famous restaurant “The Range Café.” (I haven’t heard of it either. Ha) Anyways, it was pretty neat place.

Sorry I know the first one is sideways. I was trying to show that it says chocolate milk from a chocolate cow. Ha!

We stayed in Clubhouse Hotel or something like that. It was not that great. The walls were super thin so we could her everything. However, I was so exhausted I was out. I feel like I haven’t slept in days.
Xoxo

On the road again...

Whoa, they changed blogger on me. I need to readjust to everything. Crazy craz!

So here is the deal---ready? It's a lot to take in kind of. I was on my way back to Utah last Sunday. I had this huge breakdown in the middle of the Minneapolis airport. I mean bawling, as people walked by and stared at me.  I realized some things in my life that I had to do. Some of them royally suck, okay most of them do but I knew it was the right thing to do. So if you know it is the right thing, you do it--lesson learned.

Anyways, so I called my parents to come get me and take me back to Georgia. The next day my dad flew out to come get me. The past week has been a bit of a blur. Thanks to my wonderful brother, he let me take over his house with all of my things I have collected over the past few years. I had three piles--DI, give to Chris and Kara, and then to keep.  Here is my pile:

It looks like a lot, but I downsized a lot. I got rid of over half of my things! I spent the next few days trying to pack, and organize, and get things taken care of before I left. Then came the challenge--packing the car. My mom had this idea to get a thing called a Rooftop bag. Very interesting. But we got everything to fit. Yay!

So the driving began.

School!!!

I thought of two more New Year's goals. Ready for them?
  • Write like a mini book review for the books I read. I think I may have mentioned this before. I had a professor last semester that wrote book reviews, two pages each, on every book he has read. Then he puts them in a filing cabinet. I liked the idea! I always read books and then later I can't remember if I liked them and if I did why did I like it. So, I want to try and do that. We will see if that actually happens. Ha.
  • I plan on being more organized in school and more dedicated. I bought colorful pens so I can try and color code my notes. That way, it will help important things stand out to me. It's the little things right? My other thought is I am planning on getting a netbook. Those cute little mini computers. They are lightweight, lasts for hours, small and convenient. Perfect for school! So if you have any suggestions of what kind I should get, let me know. I am clueless what kind I want and I'm planning on getting it in the next week or so. Anyways, I may take notes on my computer so I can read it. Thoughts? Has anyone done this before and found it to be helpful?

Sooooo, school starts next week for me and I am kind of excited! Grant it, give it like three weeks and I'll be over it. I love new classes, new people, and change. Hopefully the semester goes as well as I would like it to.

I added two more classes to my schedule. Woo! So now I'll be going to school 10-10. Good times!  Yikes, I may not be available this semester fyi. School and work. One busy busy girl! The good thing is that I will be able to go to devotionals this semester! I couldn't last year because I went to school Mon, Wed, Fri. Now I can! Good spiritual lift in the week.

Tomorrow my dear friends is the wonderful day of 90% Target shopping! I am so thrilled! I just looked at the things I bought last year, it got me very excited. I love good deals! Plus, this is an awesome deal for someone who lacks in the Christmas decoration area. I gave in today however and bought a tree. 7ft for $18! I am still looking for some things, so hopefully tomorrow I can find some good stuff!

Also, tv shows started back up this week! I have three shows I like to watch.

Well posting pictures again isn't working. Blah. They are Pretty Little Liars, Revenge, and Grey's Anatomy.

Pathetic right? There are some others I like to watch here and there, but these are the ones I do not like to miss.
