glow glow

Do you see how much time has past since my last posting? Ridiculous! This is very sad. I need to be better. I need Dayne back to remind me constantly to update. Boo.

This will be short and sweet. I have lots to post about, but I won't today.

I bought a nook. Have I mentioned that? A nook glowlight! I know me of all people bought an ereader! Shocking! I did lots of research comparing which ereader to get (and why I should invest in one). Best decision! First of all Nook is better than Kindle and most ereaders out there. Plus Barnes and Noble is really helpful and reliable. Well, then it came down to which Nook to get. The tablet reminded me too much of my iphone, but bigger. I thought that was a waste. I want to read books not play games. Then I was thinking of the color because with my discount it's like $20 more, color is good to have. Again though, it had too many extra features I didn't want. Besides, the color is best for magazines. But I love my glossy pages in real physical magazines. So I decided on this one.

Pros: It is only used for reading. I feel like I'm reading a page from a book. The glowlight is fantastic for night reading. (Which I do a lot of) The light isn't overly bright and blinding. There is an anti-glare; which rocks to read while being outside. It is so little and super lightweight (easy for travel). It lasts like 30hrs. I can lend books to others and vice versa. Also, I can borrow books from the library.

Cons: It is only an ereader. It would be nice to have some internet access to get books from other websites instead of having to connect it to the computer.  It's doesn't have a good smooth transition between turning pages. Hopefully there will be an update to fix that.

Overall, I'm so happy I decided to purchase this. It will help to download textbooks for school on it too. Plus, having an ereader is great for reading books to decide if it is worth to physically buy them.
The thing I hate about having an ereader? Books can be expensive. I am use to buying books cheap unless they are classics. So not worth the price to just read on like a computer screen practically. Especially if I end up liking it and decide to buy the hard copy, then what a bummer to pay twice for it!

That's why I love this website. http://the-cheap.net/ The website list deals on Nook books that are cheaper and also FREE! I have found some good ones through this site. Also, on Barnes and Noble they have FREE FRIDAYS on their blog. Fantastic!!

Mumble jumble

  • My blog needs an updated look. But, I need cute ideas. I feel like my creativity is out the window. I need to be crafting more.
  • Playlist.com doesn't let me add my playlist to my blog anymore. Lame. Anyone know other ideas to add a music playlist? Stephanie needs her music!
  • I'm doing sewing with my sister-in-law. I need ideas on what to make. We can make cute clothes for my niece but I want something for me. I don't want to make clothes, because they always come out tacky for adults. I'm thinking a messenger bag, but what else?
  • I got two new callings recently. They haven't been officially announced. So shh, don't tell yet. They fit me so well. Ha. Can you guess what they are? .....Chorister and Young Single Adult Representative. Chorister--done. YSA Rep- talk about work! I'm in a family ward. Apparently there are a lot of people falling in between the cracks. There are like 20 people in my ward. I can only think of 4. Ha. So my job is to find them and report to RS and Elder's President. Then go to Stake Committee meetings and help plan activities. Should be fun eh? I'm semi excited about it. I love stuff like this: leadership, planning, helping people, and moving forward.
  • There are lots of changes going on at work. New manager and changes. Kind of stressful. Just a tad. That's to be expected though. However, I got the ATM job. Pretty awesome. I may become full time soon. Also, good news. I have more to say about work, but I won't. Ha.
  • I need to volunteer more for service things. It's been a while. Serving others makes me happy.
  • People have like given up on their blogs. I'm highly disappointed. I need updates on peeps! I'm one to talk it's been like a month. Tisk Tisk. Ha.
  • The family was all here this past week. Awesome! It was so fun. Atlanta Zoo, Gwinett Braves, Pictures, Annual Family BBQ, video games, Homemade ice cream, laughing, talking, and many good times. Plus I got to see my nephew! He's so grown up! I loved having everyone here.
  • In case you were wondering, my box of books never showed up. So mad still! I've replaced a lot but still, stupid post office!
Mumble jumbles over, for now. =)

Birchbox

Birchbox.

Have you heard of it? Once a month you get a lovely box of goodies sent to your door. Big brands, trending items, straight to your door! They send samples of makeup, hair products, skin products, nail polish, lotion, etc. So exciting! All for $10.  You can go here and sign up or learn more if you'd like.

Honestly, I just wanted to try it for a little while to see if I could get some good stuff. I like variety too, and I hate spending money for something I end up hating. I have a couple of friends that have tried it and seem to like it. Also, what got me was the Gossip Girl themed May box. Ha. I know, silly. I haven't even watched the show since it started but it won me over!

I got a cute little box with the gossip girl logo on the outside and then inside pink tissue paper wrapped my items with a little bow. Precious. Ha. I tried to post a picture, but  you know issues with the pictures from the internet..again. Boo.
Here's the goodies I received and a link so you can view them on the website:
  • Sugar Plum Tinted Lip Treatment- I freakin love this!! I am a big lip gloss/ lip treatment person. I am super picky and only want really good things. I don't know how to describe this, but I'll try. It is light, smooth, feels amazing on your lips, has a little bit of color, good moisture, and doesn't have a yucky taste or texture. It also includes spf 15, which is always helpful.
  • BVLGARI Omnia Perfume- They describe it perfectly on the website, "Simple and sophisticated." It's fresh smelling. Stephanie likes fresh perfumes not overly fruity or overwhelming. It's like taking a deep breath of fresh air in the mountains.
  • Hair Ties- I think these are colorful good hair ties. I like that it looks like a ribbon but stretches. They are pretty sturdy also. It doesn't fit around my wrist, so that's a bummer. I probably wouldn't buy these, but I'll use the ones they gave me.
  • Blender Cleanser- This is for cleaning your makeup brushes. I haven't tried it yet, but I know my makeup brushes need cleaning!
  • Dr. Jart Beauty Balm- Moisturizer, sunscreen, and a cover-up. I haven't tried it yet. I've heard very good things about it! I really like my moisturizer so this will probably won't be my thing. I'll try it thought.
  • Xoxo Notecards- These are super cute. I love xoxo's. Besides, I love notecards. Weird right?

Maybe I'll remember to post what I got each month and my thoughts on the products, but I might forget. Ha.

Pan the Man!

This is the story about a boy who never grows old. He lives in a magical place located second star to the right and straight on till morning. The boy's name is Peter. The place is called Neverland.

We all know the story of Peter Pan. When you're little it sounds awesome: adventures, never growing up, flying, and endless childhood. It's a fascinating story.

However, I was never a big fan of the story. It's way good. Just, not my favorite. Now, I love it. I think it's because I know the ins and outs of the story, or what the movies have come up with. Ha.

  • Disney's Peter Pan (1953)- The cartoon story of Peter Pan. Wendy, John, and Michael travel to Neverland. They save Tiger Lily and fight the great Captain Hook.
  • Disney's Return to Neverland-  Wendy's daughter, Jane, is captured by Captain Hook.
  • Hook - Steven Spielberg. Robin Williams is in this film. Captain Hook captures Peter's children and he has to return to Neverland to save them and remember who he truly is.
  • Finding Neverland (2004)- Johnny Depp is in it. The story of the author who wrote Peter Pan.
  • Peter Pan (2003)- A real life version of the story of Peter Pan.
  • Neverland (2011)-  The story of before Neverland. Peter and Hook are partners/family. And get transported to Neverland.
So many stories! I recently watched Neverland. I LOVED it! Such a completely different view of the story. Go see it. I highly recommend it!

That's all...exciting post right?
